Rye Jazz Festival is thrilled to announce a wonderful festive Christmas concert with the much loved and acclaimed singer, recording artist, radio broadcaster and TV presenter Aled Jones on Friday 14th December at the stunning setting of St Mary’s Church, Rye.

Aled will be performing repertoire from his impressive back catalogue, songs from his last solo album release ‘One Voice’ and a selection of seasonal classics to get us all in the festive spirit!

Aled has had an extraordinary career over the past three decades. He is the original crossover star and has sung for the Pope and the Royal Family, has received an MBE, released over 30 albums, with over 10 million album sales and counting and has over 40 Silver, Gold and Platinum Discs.

After beginning his career at the age of 12, Aled became one of the world’s most successful boy sopranos, releasing 12 hit albums in 4 years with the defining moment being ‘Walking in the Air’, the hit song from the animated film The Snowman.

Aled will be joined by the 16 piece Fidelity International choir and very special guest, mezzo soprano singer Danielle Thomas who at the age of 11, Danielle made her television debut on BBC’s Songs of Praise where she sang Rick Wakeman’s arrangement of ‘Morning has Broken’ accompanied by Rick himself, after being scouted by the BBC.

Danielle is an award winning classically trained singer from Liverpool and is a versatile performer with genres of music varying from classical, classical crossover to musical theatre and also putting her own touch on popular songs.

This concert presents a wonderful opportunity to treat someone special at Christmas or to gather with friends to experience a truly unforgettable concert.
