The Cranbrook Literature Festival is back this year having been Covid postponed last September.

The event takes place on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th September bringing children and adult authors, poetry, creative writing workshops, discussion, and competitions to Cranbrook.

The Cranbrook Literature Festival is a two-day, biennial event held to celebrate Cranbrook’s literary heritage and to promote the joy of the written word to children and adults in and around the Cranbrook area. It is a not-for-profit organisation, run totally by volunteers, all passionate about reading, writing and all things booky!

Taking part this year are Deborah Moggach, Tom Harte-Dyke, William Nicholson, Pen Vogler, Iain Dale, The Noir Collective, Sophy Henn, Hilary Wilce, Anna Richards and local poets Hubert Moore, John Rice and Bowie Adams.

The events offer an eclectic mix of speakers with Deborah Moggach talking about her new novel ‘Black Dress’ as well as her best selling ‘’Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’; William Nicholson will speak about his many novels and work on film scripts for ‘Hope Gap’ and ‘Gladiator’; Pen Vogler will enlighten us on her new book ‘Scoff – A History of Food and Class in Britain’; LBC broadcaster, political commentator and journalist Iain Dale will speak about his books and will be in discussion with local MP Greg Clark; Tom Hart-Dyke, botanist/traveller/adventurer/tv personality/writer and creator of ‘The World Garden’ will entertain us with tales of his many adventures and there will be psychological, mystery and suspense from The Noir Collective.

The town of Cranbrook has always embraced tradition and culture with its popular annual art show, apple fayre  and music festival.  The Cranbrook Literature Festival  celebrates the written word and the town’s rich literary heritage with its creative and exciting biennial literature festival. It is  a community, not for profit event.

THERE WILL BE BOOK STALL IN THE VESTRY HALL FOR THE DURATION OF THE FESTIVAL SELLING DISCOUNTED BOOKS BY THE VISITING AUTHORS. CASH SALES WILL BE PREFERRED.
