Event Description
Canterbury is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and 2021 sees the introduction of a new guided tour of the city combining the three sites that together give Canterbury this title.
This fully guided six hour tour gives a fascinating and detailed insight into the introduction of Roman Christianity into Britain. The tour takes you from the arrival of St Augustine in 597 to the creation of the Abbey that bears his name; it shows you the Cathedral’s humble pre-Norman beginnings to present day status as mother church of the Anglican faith and offers a chance to discover the hidden history behind St Martin’s Church, England’s oldest parish church.
