We are delighted to be able to display the work of Olive Graham-Desnoes this year in our fine art gallery in celebration of Black History Month.
Olive Graham-Desnoes was born in Jamaica St Anns and came to England at the age of nine years old to join her family. She was educated here and later studied Fine Art at the West Surrey College of Art & Design.
Art & Design has always been a passion for Olive from childhood and was encouraged by her family. Her artworks later graced many exhibitions as a member of the Caribbean Craft Circle (CCC), the Jamaican Embassy, OBAALA gallery, Air Jamaica Offices and a group exhibition at Festival Hall on the Southbank, London. As a member of the Bayswater Road Artists, she would exhibit with them every Sunday using the opportunity todo live portraits.
Olive taught Art Design & Technology at Warren Comprehensive School and Sixth Form College before retiring.
