It's all about events
across the Weald and South East

Before I get into the nitty gritty of what the definition of any event is, I would like to briefly touch on their importance. Despite the fact that events are time consuming, often difficult to organise, sometimes physically challenging and most of the time come with cost risks attached, they can bring huge pleasure to so many people when well planned and promoted; and in more ways than one they can be profitable too.

Events go right to the heart of who we are as human beings, social creatures that enjoy contact with others. Offering the power of face to face dialogue, events can touch on all the emotions we possess and bring families, communities, organisations and business together to stimulate better understanding and appreciation of others.

According to Google’s dictionary an event is defined as,

I’vent/

noun

  • A thing that happens or takes place, especially one of importance
‘the momentus political events of the 1980s’
  • A planned public or social occasion
‘the staff have been holding a number of events to raise money for charity’

Synonyms   Occurrence, happening, proceeding, episode, incident, affair, circumstance, occasion, business, matter, experience, eventuality, phenomenon; more

  • Each of several particular contests making up a sports competition
‘he repeated the success in the four-lap, 600 cc event’

Synonyms   Competition, contest, tournament, round, heat, game, match, fixture, meet, meeting, encounter; more

At The Big WOW we agree and uphold Google’s dictionary definition, but for the purpose of ensuring every organisation, business, individual, group, community, charity and venue feels included we have expanded and developed our categories and sub-categories so that everyone holding any form of event feels included, so here are ours:

Our team is passionate about promoting all events across the Weald of Kent, Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex. Yes indeed the Weald abridges four counties, is an area of outstanding natural beauty and has a huge amount to offer those that live here and visit it, so let’s work together to put all the amazing events that so many people work hard to deliver on the map and by doing so, promote this fabulous region.

If you organise or hold events or know of people that do, then please spread the word and let them know that they can upload their event today at The Big WOW.

Every event that is uploaded will receive our promotional support across social media and if you have a great story to tell we are happy to publish an article about your special event in our News Hub.
