What’s On at the Hazlitt Theatre this October ?

Heading into Autumn, The Hazlitt Theatre welcomes an array of talent in the Main House and Exchange Studio – from BAFTA award winning comedian Michael Odewale to their very own Hazlitt Institute’s musical Shrek! Take a look at What’s On in October…

ABBA Forever begin the month with two nights celebrating the world’s greatest pop group! Recognised as one of the best live recreations of ABBA, the group have sold out six theatre tours in Sweden and now return to Maidstone on 3 and 4 October.  Dynamic non-stop choreography, stunning visuals, top-class musicianship and an ALL-LIVE performance ensures that the ABBA Forever tribute show captivates audiences from the opening refrain to the final sing-along chorus of this two-hour spectacular.

Continuing the live music, The Roy Orbison & the Travelling Wilburys Experience are in the Main House on 5 October – with very limited seats remaining. The group will take you on a journey through the hits of Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, The Heartbreakers and The Beatles’ George Harrison. As the Wilburys never toured, this is the ultimate experience for music lovers!

Europe’s foremost Rod Stewart tribute, Pete McCall, returns to Maidstone on 10 October with hits like Some Guys Have All The Luck, Maggie May, Sailing, Da Ya Think I’m Sexy and many more. Accompanied by an electric live band, this tribute is not to be missed! Or for something different, roll into the weekend with Country Superstars two-nighter on 11 and 12 October. Endorsed by Dolly Parton herself, this West End production celebrate the music of Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Glen Campbell and Shania Twain (and many more!).

For something different, join Jeff Stelling as he looks back on his Sky Soccer Saturday career hosted by Bianca Westwood. Stelling joined Sky in 1994, and has interviewed some of football’s most decorated players since, including David Beckham and George Best. A limited number of VIP Meet & Greet tickets are available, and going quickly!

End the month with the Hazlitt’s very own Performing Institute for their production of Shrek the Musical! Running 31 October – 2 November, don’t miss this annual musical production performed by the Hazlitt Theatre’s talent institute members.

Do you ever feel like this isn’t how it was meant to be? Well, Tom Ward is back in Maidstone with answers in his brand new stand-up show – Choose Your Delusion. Don’t miss his Main House debut with all of his hot takes, from masculinity to reality TV. The Hazlitt Theatre’s Exchange Studio also welcomes a variety of comedians including BAFTA award winner Michael Odewale, Alfie Brown, Travis Jay and Chris Kent! And if you missed out on tickets to Daniel O’Reilly this October, don’t miss his second date on 13 February 2025 – with tickets selling fast!
