In the spirit of “all for one and one for all”, for the first time ever, The Hazlitt Theatre and Maidstone Borough Council Open Air Summer Tour is fundraising for 8 local charities across the tour. The Hazlitt Theatre is thrilled to be opening the tour in the Hermitage Millennium Amphitheatre on Saturday, 17 August with two performances in aid of Making a Difference to Maidstone. With a week to go until the Hazlitt Theatre and Maidstone Borough Council Open Air Summer Tour kicks off, get to know the first of the 8 nominated charities – MADM!

MADM supports individuals and families who find themselves in crisis through homelessness, domestic abuse, addiction, financial need, unemployment, relationship breakdown, and more. MADM believes that everyone should be able to live in freedom and be treated with dignity, respect, and love regardless of circumstances. This influences every aspect of how the charity works – from the work they do with social services and Kent Police, to local housing associations.

“MADM is absolutely thrilled to be accepted as one of the 8 Charities for the first ever ‘Hazlitt Theatre Open Air Summer Tour’ fundraiser, and equally honoured to be the first Maidstone Charity to be represented in this Tour. MADM helps those in a Diversity of Crisis – we offer a bespoke service to try and meet the individual needs. This recognition will help us reach even more within our community that need a variety of support. Thank You!”

Whilst the Hazlitt Theatre is a cashless venue, don’t forget your spare change on 17 August as MADM representatives will be accepting cash bucket donations before and after the performances, so be sure to make sure to say hello and give what you can to this amazing charity!

This year, The Three Musketeers will be visiting more venues than ever, with 10 stops around Maidstone on the way! This tour presented by the Hazlitt Theatre and Maidstone Borough Council is part of an initiative to make performing arts accessible and affordable for all in the local area, growing from one performance of Alice in Wonderland at Cobtree Manor Park in 2021 to 10 venues in the 2024 tour. The Hazlitt Theatre strives to make deeper links with local communities through inclusive and entertaining experiences for all, whilst also promoting community green spaces around Maidstone. In the latest step towards this community-centred initiative, MADM is just one of 8 charities supported by The Three Musketeers tour this year!
