Are you missing being able to see animals in our wildlife and safari parks across the South East? Everybody loves animals, especially children but sadly we’ve not had many opportunities to visit in recent times.
Whilst we can’t see the animals in person this half term, we can still get up close and find out what they are up to.
We’ve put together a list of animal webcams across Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, for all those who are missing their furry friends!
Port Lympne – Kent
Port Lympne welcomed three new lion cubs in January and to ensure nobody misses out, they have installed 3 live cams to capture their early moments! These livestreams run 24/7 on their YouTube channel. You can show your support for the pride and the whole Port Lympne team during these challenging times by adopting the cubs, sending a virtual care package or by making a donation via our Animal Support Fund page.
Marwell Zoo – Winchester
Marwell is 140 acre zoological park set in the Hampshire countryside. They usually welcome over 500,000 visitors a year and have all kinds of animals including tigers, giraffes and penguins. You can catch lots of their wildlife daily via their keep in touch cams.
Wildlife Aid – Surrey
The Wildlife Aid Foundation, based in Leatherhead treat and rehabilitate injured and sick wild animals in the area. They are currently open as an essnetial service and is usually open to the public on their annual open day each year. You can check out their live Hedgehog and Swan cams here.
Wingham Wildlife Park – Kent
Wingham Wildlife Park is Kent’s fastest growing wildlife park, not far from Canterbury. Housing the largest number of animal species in the county, visitors are usually lucky enough to see flamingos, bats, tigers and even the adorable red pandas! But whilst they’ve been closed during lockdown they’ve installed live cameras and uploaded plenty of adorable content to their YouTube channel.
Peregrine Falcons – Sussex Heights
A Peregrine Falcon nestbox was installed 334 feet up on the roof of Sussex Heights in March 1998. The nestbox has been tremendously successful with Peregrines raising young every year since 1998, except in 2002 when they bred on West Pier. Live webcam viewing from inside the nestbox has been operated for many years. This has proved extremely popular amongst a wide audience including Brighton residents and others from all over the world. You can check it out here.
