Where Can We Go In Kent?

With many restrictions lifting this week, many of Kent’s parks, attractions, take aways and pubs are finally re-opening their doors. But where can we go in Kent? We’ve put together a list of great places to visit across the county.

Hop Farm Family Park

The Hop Farm is Kent’s iconic and historic landmark. Featuring the world’s largest collection of Victorian oast houses, it was a major supplier of hops to London breweries in the 19th and 20th centuries. Families across the South East and beyond used to spend the summer holidays working in the rolling countryside around the Hop Farm, harvesting hops and preparing them to be transported.

Buttercups Goat Sanctuary

Open Thursday to Monday, 11am – 4pm. Set in ancient parkland the Sanctuary provides animals that have suffered so much with a safe and loving home for the rest of their lives. As well as open fields to roam in, all of the animals at Buttercups have warm and dry undercover accommodation at night.

Kent Life

Kent Life, as it is now known, is one of the few remaining places in Britain where hops are grown, harvested, dried and packed in its magnificent Oast house, by hand, using only time honored, traditional techniques.

Kent Life, the region’s premier heritage farm attraction, is bigger and better than ever this year, with everything you need for a ‘farm-tastic’ family day out!

Burn off some energy in the indoor soft play or outdoor adventure playground. Touch, hold and pet many of our small animal in Cuddle Corner, be creative in the Paint-a-Pot Studio, Look out for Wooden Animals hidden around the grounds, find them all and win a yummy treat. Have a ride on our Donkeys, tractor or land train.

Explore the beauty of our period homes and historic buildings and take in the sights and smells of Kent’s garden’s including our herbaceous boarders and wildlife discovery trail.

Diggerland

If you’re looking for fun-filled, action-packed family days out in Kent… you need look no further than Diggerland. Located in Medway Valley Leisure Park just a few minutes drive from the M2, you can enjoy fabulous family days out in Kent only at Diggerland.

As you would expect, the Kent park has all the same rides & drives as our other three UK parks, including: Spindizzy, Mini-Tractors, Groundshuttle and Dig-a-Round, as well as Go-Karts and Dodgems. Unique to the Kent, Diggerland Adventure Park are the breathtaking, spectacular views across the River Medway of Rochester and its historic, 11th century cathedral and the 12th century castle which you can take in from 50 feet up on the Diggerland Skyshuttle – don’t forget your camera!

Howletts Wildlife Park

Open again from Monday 12th April. A strictly limited number of tickets per park, per day and all visits must be pre-booked.Day visitor safaris at Port Lympne are temporarily unavailable and Treetop Challenge at Howletts remains closed.

Port Lympne & Howletts are Kent’s largest Wild Animal Parks, offering a huge amount of outdoor space for you to responsibly explore and enjoy.

Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation

Re-opening on Friday 16th April, with over 50 species, many of which are now breeding at the centre or can be seen flying in our daily demonstrations. Eagle Heights is also become a wildlife sanctuary and house a variety of animals including, Meerkats, African Servals, Farm Animals, Reptiles, Huskies and more!
